If You Can’t Say Something Nice about Opposing Counsel, Then Say…

Trashing opposing counsel to your client is a mistake.

It makes you look small and petty. It’s bad form.

It has the exact opposite of the intended effect. It doesn’t build you up; instead, it makes your client wonder about you.

Build them up; don’t tear them down.

You look especially bad when the attorney you called incompetent beats you in court.

If you can’t say something nice, say nothing at all.
