How Much Free Information Is Too Much?

A lawyer asked me why I give away so much information for free on my family law website.

My site isn’t like the typical law firm site. It’s jam-packed with information and tools. It’s updated daily, and our attorneys and our users add new content all day long.

We have videos, audios, calculators, forms, articles, statutes, case law, etc.

The site houses thousands of pages of information.

So why do we give away so much free information on our site?

Because the universal reaction to the site from prospective clients goes something like this:

“This site is amazing. It has everything. If the stuff they’re giving away is this good, then imagine what they can do for me if I hire them.”

Boom. Done. New client—check!

That’s why we give away so much information for free on our site.
