Award Winning in Chicago

I’m in Chicago this week for TECHSHOW. I’m having a great time. Today I was honored to receive the James I. Keane Memorial Award. It’s an award from the American Bar Association Law Practice Management Section recognizing our innovation in the use of technology demonstrating a committment to the public and the profession through web-based legal work.

The award celebrates the cool stuff we’re doing with North Carolina Divorce. It’s really nice to get some recognition.

It’s more important, however, that we keep doing what we’re doing to serve the public. We’ve been putting free, useful information on the internet for fourteen years. When we launched the site in 1996 lawyers criticized us for giving the information away for free. Today we’re getting an award. My how times have changed.

I’m really grateful to the committee chair, Richard Granatt, and the other committee members for selecting me for the award. Thank you. It feels good.

You’re more than deserving! You know your site is good when local court personnel refer pro se litigants to it. It’s a great help to us all.
