Have You Planned Your Holiday Party?

medium-WSC Christmas Party 12-16-06 002It’s Labor Day – September 7, 2009. 108 days to Christmas. Hanukkah is two weeks earlier.

A month or so from now we’ll start seeing holiday decorations in the mall. It comes earlier each year.

Have you planned your firm holiday party?

One year, many years ago, I tried to skip the firm holiday party. I thought that I could just ignore it and it would go away.

No such luck.

The paralegals decided it had to happen and planned it without my input. Next thing I knew, I was sitting in the Steak and Ale.

The Steak and Ale was fine and I accepted that I was going to have to plan a party each year. It was not going to go away.

Now, we plan ahead. We usually book a room early in the summer. For many years we’ve been doing it at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. I’m not a huge fan of chain restaurants, but I have to say that Ruth’s Chris does an extraordinary job. They have great private rooms, the food is very good and the service is excellent.

If you haven’t planned your party yet, it’s time. Maybe this is something festive you can do as you celebrate Labor Day.
