US Supreme Court Rules in Family Law Case

images.jpgIt’s not very often that a family law related case makes it to the U.S. Supreme Court. The Court just issued it’s opinion in a case involving a dispute between an ex-wife and the her ex-husband’s daughter over the proceeds of a pension plan. The decision, Kennedy v. DuPont, has significant impact on the procedures we follow in our practices.

Robert Kisselburgh, in his Mississippi Family Law Blog does a great job of explaining the decision of the Court.

I do all I can to stay away from “the law” on this site but if the Supreme Court is going to get involved in our business than the least I can do is give them three paragraphs.
